Cookie Policy
Pontygwaith Allotment Society (PASS)
Last reviewed: 11 October 2026
This policy explains how the Pontygwaith Allotment Society (PASS) website uses cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage. We aim to explain what these technologies do and give visitors clear choices about optional uses.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small pieces of information saved by your browser when you visit a website. Local storage is a separate browser technology that allows a website to remember information on your device.
These technologies can support features such as signing in, remembering preferences and saving information used by website tools. They can also be used for analytics and advertising, depending on the service involved.
2. Login and essential website functions
PASS uses Supabase for authentication and related services. Cookies or similar storage may be used to maintain login sessions and support access to members-only areas.
The website also uses browser storage for features such as language preferences, appearance settings and gardening tools, including the Plot Planner. The purpose of each technology determines whether it is strictly necessary and whether consent is required.
Storage that is necessary to provide a service you have requested may be used without optional analytics or marketing consent where permitted by law. Other storage must be assessed separately.
3. Your cookie choices
When you visit the website, our cookie pop-up offers these choices:
- Accept All: records your choice to allow the optional categories shown in the pop-up.
- Reject Non-Essential: records your choice not to allow optional categories.
- Manage Preferences: lets you choose separately for analytics and marketing.
Your choices are saved in browser local storage under the key passCookieConsent. This consent record is not itself a cookie.
You can reopen Cookie Settings using the floating button on the website to review or change your choices. Clearing your browser storage may remove your saved preferences, so you may be asked to choose again.
Recording a choice does not, by itself, block or enable a separate service. Optional technologies must also be connected to the consent system so that your choice is respected.
4. Analytics and marketing
Analytics technologies can measure how visitors use a website. Marketing technologies can be used for advertising or tracking across services. The use of these technologies depends on which services are installed and enabled.
Our source-code checks have not identified obvious references to common analytics tools. This is not a complete audit of cookies or storage used by the website, its dependencies, hosting services or other integrations.
We will assess any optional technologies used by PASS and ensure that those requiring consent are not activated before valid consent is obtained. We will update this policy if the technologies we use change.
5. Managing browser storage
You can manage your choices using Cookie Settings. Your browser also provides controls for viewing and deleting cookies and local storage.
Blocking or deleting storage may affect login, saved preferences, gardening tools or other website features. Essential website functions may need some storage to work correctly.
6. Contact PASS
If you have questions about this policy or how the website uses cookies and similar technologies, please contact the Pontygwaith Allotment Society committee through the Society's usual contact arrangements.
This policy will be reviewed when website features, cookies, integrations or storage technologies change.
